Ryan Brown

Managing Partner

Ryan is a Co-Managing Partner of Ascent Capital, a private real estate investment firm established in 2021 and focused on the acquisition and active management of commercial real estate throughout Alberta. Ascent currently oversees more than $100 million in assets under management, with a primary focus on industrial properties and value-oriented investment opportunities.

Ryan is actively involved across all aspects of Ascent’s investment platform, including deal sourcing, underwriting, acquisitions, financing, capital planning, leasing, asset management and dispositions. His approach combines a strong understanding of real estate fundamentals with hands-on operating experience, allowing Ascent to identify opportunities where active management, strategic capital investment and leasing execution can enhance long-term asset performance and investor returns.

Ryan has been active in commercial real estate since 2010 and, over the course of his career, has been involved in more than $750 million of transactions representing over 8 million square feet of commercial space. This extensive transaction experience and day-to-day involvement in Alberta’s commercial real estate market provide Ascent with direct market intelligence and a broad network of property owners, tenants, lenders and industry professionals.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance from the University of Alberta and has earned the SIOR designation (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors), a globally recognized designation for experienced commercial real estate professionals.

Conor Clarke

Conor is a Co-Managing Partner of Ascent Capital, bringing a diverse background in commercial real estate, financial services and entrepreneurship to the firm. His experience as an advisor, investor and business owner has shaped a practical, hands-on approach to real estate investment and asset management.

At Ascent, Conor focuses on identifying investment opportunities and executing business plans across the portfolio, with direct involvement in acquisitions, underwriting, financing, leasing strategy and asset management. His commercial real estate experience is primarily focused on industrial properties, where he has advised on the acquisition, disposition and leasing of assets throughout Alberta. This market experience, combined with his background as a business owner, provides a unique perspective when evaluating properties from both an investment and occupier standpoint.

Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Conor worked as an Investment Advisor with Richardson GMP, developing a strong foundation in investment analysis and client relationship management. He later co-founded Collective Waste Solutions, where he gained first-hand experience building and operating a growing company. That experience continues to influence his approach at Ascent, particularly in understanding tenant operations, property functionality and the role real estate plays in supporting successful businesses.

Born and raised in Alberta, Conor holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.
